A heart-wrenching picture has emerged from the Commonwealth Games 2026 being played in Glasgow. During a boxing match, Welsh boxer Orlando Hawley Sotomi gave such a knockout that the opponent was left on all fours. He defeated Refiloe Thai of Lesotho in the quarterfinals of the men’s 70 kg boxing competition.

Holly Sotomi is participating in the Commonwealth Games for the first time. Only about a minute had passed since the match between Sotomi and Thai had started, when the Welsh boxer delivered a powerful right hand which hit Thai on his jaw. Refilo Thai fell down in the ring and remained down for a long time. The effect of Sotomi’s punch was such that Refilo Thai had lost his senses.

This quarterfinal started in a very spectacular manner. Both boxers tried to punch aggressively, but Refiloe went into Thai defense mode after facing the impact of one or two punches from Orlando Holly Sotomi. From here on Sotomi dominated and after just one minute secured her place in the semi-finals.

The medical staff immediately took control of the situation and the good thing was that Refilo Thai did not go unconscious. But after that punch by Sotomi, the referee immediately announced the end of the match. With this, the bronze medal for the Welsh boxer has been confirmed.
