Indian Army Vehicle ditch in Ramban: On Sunday (May 04, 2025) in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, a vehicle of Indian Army convoy fell into a 700 feet deep ditch from the road. Three army soldiers died in this accident. The officers provided this information.

Officials said that the army truck was part of the convoy going from Jammu to Srinagar on National Highway 44. The accident occurred on National Highway 44 near Battery Chashma at around 11.30 am. Officials said that immediate joint rescue operation was launched with the help of Army, Police, State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) and local people. He said that three soldiers died in the accident, who have been identified as soldiers Amit Kumar, Sujit Kumar and Man Bahadur.

A similar incident happened in March

Officials said the vehicle was completely damaged due to the accident. A police officer said that in a similar incident in March, a cargo vehicle carrying fresh vegetables fell from the road in Ramban district and fell into a deep ditch, killing two people. These people were returning to their village Ukhral Pogal-Paristan, when the accident occurred near the battery glasses on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The deceased were identified as driver Arshid Ahmed and his assistant Seva Singh. Both of them were about 30 years old.

Dead bodies were recovered in 100 deep ditch

According to the official, a joint rescue operation was carried out with the help of police and local volunteers and the bodies were recovered from several hundred feet deep moat. In another incident in March itself, four people were killed and eight others were injured when a vehicle slipped from a road in Reasi district and fell into a deep ditch.
