CM Omar Abdullah Announce Fund for Border Areas After Operation Sindoor India Attack Pakistan Ann

Omar Abdullah on Operation Sindoor: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday directed to release a fund of Rs 5 crore to each border district and Rs 2 crore to other districts of Jammu and Kashmir, so that the local administration could rapidly handle the deteriorating situation due to heavy shells from across the border.

Presiding over an emergency meeting through video conferencing with the Deputy Commissioners of all the border districts, the Chief Minister said that funds should be distributed on priority basis in the border areas. According to official sources, the move aims to ensure that the districts are adequately equipped for dealing with emergency conditions, storing the necessary supply and preparation of withdrawal.

The meeting convened in view of increasing tension along the Line of Control (LoC) and international border was attended by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu and top officials including Deputy Commissioners of all affected districts.

Omar Abdullah emphasized on saving the lives of citizens

Omar Abdullah emphasized the immediate need to save the lives of citizens. He instructed the administration to strengthen infrastructure for shelters and bunkers, ensure availability of medical resources, deploy ambulances in sensitive areas and keep the evacuation plan ready.

To ensure the smooth operation of government machinery, he also called for immediate filling of the vacant posts of Tehsildars and other major officers in the border districts. The Chief Minister expressed grief over the casualties and injuries in the areas adjacent to the Line of Control and directed the officials to provide all the necessary assistance to the affected families.

The Deputy Commissioners informed the Chief Minister about the level of preparations and confirmed that the emergency supply has been stocked. He assured the administration continuously monitoring and timely response to the administration.

Omar Abdullah also directed the authorities to actively compete with misinformation and urged people to rely only on official communication channels for updates during this sensitive period.
