Shimla Primary Teachers Hunger Strike: The gradual fast of primary teachers, which has been running for the last 43 days in Shimla, Himachal, has ended after talks with Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Saturday. In the Secretariat, a meeting was held with primary teachers under the chairmanship of the Education Minister in which the teachers have decided to end the fast after agreed on 20 to 21 issues.
What did education minister Rohit Thakur say after the meeting
After the meeting, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that some points are agreed with primary teachers and the government has assured to fulfill the legitimate demands of teachers. The Directorate of Primary and Higher Education will remain the same.
There has been an agreement with teachers on this too. Apart from this, the government will also reconsider suspended teachers. The promotion of any teacher will not be interrupted. Its teachers have also been assured of this.
At the same time, Primary Teachers Association President Jagdish Sharma said that a meeting with the Education Minister has been held on Saturday in a cordial atmosphere in which almost all the demands have been assured to meet, after which it has been decided to abolish the gradual fast.
There has been talk of formation of a committee to build a directorate of primary and higher education, in which primary teachers will also be members. The director of the directorate will be one, but there will be no change at the moment without the recommendation of the committee in other structure.
