Jammu-kashmir latest news: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wrote a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, seeking to run the Vande Bharat Express train in Kashmir Valley more and more and also to increase the number of coaches.

He wrote that the recent Vande Bharat Seva started between Katra and Srinagar has received tremendous appreciation in the state and this has made the journey more comfortable and time for citizens and tourists.

The number of existing coaches is not enough- Omar Abdullah

According to PTI, CM Omar Abdullah wrote in the letter that it was felt from the experience of the feedback from passengers and local people as well as his own travel experience that the number of existing coaches is not enough. Especially during the weekends, the rush of passengers during the weekends, holidays and Amarnath Yatra, which should be added to the train and the chair car and executive class coaches to handle. He said that by increasing the capacity of the train, passenger facilities will be better.

The Chief Minister also urged that the frequency of the train should be increased on this route. He said that it is very important to increase its number in view of the huge response to this service and the strategic importance of this route. This will not only give relief to local passengers, but will also give a boost to tourism and the capacity of the entire corridor will be better.

In addition, Abdullah described the current departure and arrival time of the train as uncomfortable. He suggested that the train leaves from Katra early in the morning and return from Srinagar in the late evening, so that the passengers can get the facility to complete the journey in a single day. He also demanded high-speed internet in the train, so that the passenger remains digitally connected during the journey, especially when the mobile network is weak in the tunnels.
