In Patna, the CBI has taken major action and arrested three personnel including two officers of the Income Tax Department. One IRS officer is also among the three people arrested. Apart from this, an income tax inspector and a multi -tasking staff have been arrested. The action has taken place on Tuesday only but on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), it has been officially informed.
Arrest in case of bribery
The arrested IRS officer is named Aditya Saurabh who is an officer of the 2021 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS). Apart from this, Income Tax Inspector Manish Kumar Pankaj and a multi -tasking staff Shubham Raj have been arrested. On Tuesday evening, the CBI team raided the street behind the Patna High Court and caught these three red -handed taking a bribe of two lakh rupees.
Allegations of demanding bribe of three lakh rupees
It is said that these people are accused of demanding a bribe of three lakh rupees from a multinational company in Hyderabad. As soon as the CBI team caught them taking the first installment of two lakh rupees, there was a stir in the Income Tax Department. The CBI was receiving complaints of illegal recovery from companies by Income Tax officials.
According to sources, the CBI is now engaged in gathering documentary evidence, phone call call recording and other electronic evidence in this entire case. Till the time the news was written, preparations were being made to present these three in court on Wednesday. Remand can be demanded by the CBI. If not received, they will be sent to jail in judicial custody. After this action of the CBI, the atmosphere of chaos is in the Income Tax Department. Investigation is also being done whether a large network is active behind this bribery or it was an isolated event.
