Os Jabeur, who has played the final of Wimbledon twice, has announced an indefinite break from tennis. He has taken this decision to focus on health.
29 -year -old Oons Jabeur wrote on the social media platform X, “For the last two years, I have been moving myself very hard, struggling with injuries and facing many other challenges. But, I am not feeling happy from inside.”
She further wrote, “Tennis is a very beautiful game, but, I think it’s time to retreat one step back and prioritize yourself. The time has come to find the joy of breathing, recovering and just living.
Jabeur is known for its artistry, clever drop shot as well as humility and humor on the court. In 2022, his rise was a historical achievement for Arab and African Tennis in the highest second place in the WTA rankings.
Let me tell you that Jabeur is not only the Tunisia but the first woman in Arabia and Africa, who has played the final of Wimbledon. His announcement came after Wimbledon was out in the first round, where he had to retire due to injury against Victoria Tomova. This moment was particularly poignant because Jabeur has an emotional connection with the All England Club.
Oons Jabeur played the finals of Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023. He had to face defeat on both occasions.
