Election Commission Has started the process of election of Vice President. The Commission issued a press release on Wednesday (July 23). The Election Commission said that on July 22, the Ministry of Home Affairs informed about the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Preparations related to the election of Vice President have started. The election date will be announced soon. Dhankhar announced the resignation on Monday (July 21). He then came to meet President Draupadi Murmu. The President approved the resignation on Tuesday.
Under Article 68 of the Constitution, it is mandatory to hold elections as soon as possible after the post of Vice President is vacant. Therefore, according to the rule, this process has to be completed soon. In this connection, the Election Commission has issued a notification.
Who makes the election of Vice President
The Vice President is elected by the electoral college, which consists of elected and nominated members of both houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). If you talk about enrollment, the Vice President’s candidate needs the support of at least 20 proposers and 20 supporters (members of the electoral college). He has to submit a bail amount of Rs 50,000 along with nomination.
Qualification of Vice Presidential candidate
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- Age should be at least 35 years.

Why did Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resign
Questions are constantly being raised on the resignation of former Vice President Dhankhar. Leaders of the opposition have given many reasons according to their own. P.
