The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken an important decision in view of the demand of schools. Now in every section of classes 1 to 12 under special circumstances, up to 45 students will be allowed to be admitted. However, in normal condition, this limit has been kept up to 40 students.
This decision is the news of relief for the schools where the number of students is increasing rapidly and due to the limited number of seats, there was a problem. CBSE has made it clear that this exemption will be given only under special and necessary circumstances. These include-
- Students whose parents have been transferred (especially in the army, central government, PSU or private sector).
- Such students who come under “Essential Repeat” category, that is, for some reason, they are studying again in the same class.
- Students suffering from serious illness.
- Cases of transfer for students coming and coming in the day.
- Students who want to enroll in the same class again to improve the performance.
Schools will have to do the whole process
CBSE has given instructions that if more than 40 students are being admitted in any section, then complete information will have to be recorded in the record-
- Class 9 to 12: The reason will have to be uploaded on the CBSE portal and it will be necessary to enter the admission/withdrawal register.
- Class 1 to 8: The reason will be recorded only in the admission/withdrawal register.
- It is also necessary to give information about all cases on the Oasis portal.
Admission will not be more than 45
The board has made it clear that in any case more than 45 students cannot be admitted in a section. Along with this, some standards have also been fixed-
The size of the class should be at least 500 square feet.
For every student, there should be at least 1 square meter -made area. These rules have been implemented under Claus 4.8 of CBSE EFILAM Blaws 2018.
