Jinnah died on 11 September 1948 in Karachi. This means that Jinnah died almost a year after becoming Pakistan. Jinnah was seriously ill at that time. He was suffering from TB disease, but he kept his illness secret. On 11 September 1948, Jinnah was being brought from Quetta to Karachi. During this time, the petrol of his ambulance ended in the middle way, which worsened his condition. He died a few hours after reaching Karachi. His death gave a deep shock to Pakistan, as he was playing an important role in stabilizing the country at that time.
Why dispute over Jinnah’s death?
After the death of Jinnah, there was a dispute about his religion. When he died, the question arose whether he should be done in ways of burial Shias or Sunnis. Although he was originally Ismaili, it is said to adopt Shia Islam later. Both Shia and Sunni traditions were followed in his funeral.
