So far, two have died in an explosion in the LPG tanker near Mandiyalan village on Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar highway in Punjab. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Senior Medical Officer of Hoshiarpur Civil Hospital confirmed this on Saturday morning. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has expressed grief over the accident and has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives.
He wrote on X, “A tanker filled with LPG gas in the village Mandiyalan in district Hoshiarpur caused a big accident. Some people have been reported to have died in this accident and some people are said to be injured.”
CM Mann further wrote, “Pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and the early recovery of the injured. The Punjab government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and the injured will be given free of cost.”

23 injured were brought to the hospital

He informed that till now 7 injured are undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur. He confirmed that two deaths had taken place so far, one of whom was brought to a dead state and the other injured died during treatment. He was referred to a private hospital, where he later died.
