Before the civic elections in Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar’s NCP has given a big blow to the Congress. Former Zilla Parishad and Congress leader Rahul Patil of Kolhapur joined NCP on Monday (25 August).

Patil, son of late Congress MLA PN Patil, contested the 2024 assembly election against Chandradeep Narke of Shiv Sena from Karvir constituency in Kolhapur, but had to face defeat.

Rahul Patil got 1,32,552 votes on Karvir seat. At the same time, Chandradeep Narke got 134,528 votes. Earlier, PN Patil won the 2019 elections. He received 135,675 votes. Then Narke got 1,13,014 votes. In 2014, there was a very close match between Patil and Narke and Narke won.

Ajit Pawar praised Rahul Patil

After joining Patil in the party, Ajit Pawar described him as a promising leader. He said that Patil will help in furthering the NCP in Kolhapur district.

Ajit Pawar said, “This state belongs to the general public, many schemes have been started for their welfare and will continue even further. Being a brother, there will be no shortage of funds for the work of lovely sisters. To help the milk producing farmers, appropriate decisions are being taken by the government and necessary grants are also being given. We are providing 75 percent grant to farmers to provide electricity on solar. ”
