Muslim population in America: The total population of the world is 800 crores. Out of this, the population of Muslims is crossing 200 crores. The main reason for this is that there are a total of 57 such countries in the world, which are completely Islamic. However, despite this, the number of Muslims in many countries is increasing today. The Pew Research Center has released a report, according to which the population of Muslims is going to increase very fast in the next 5 years in the US.
According to the report, by 2030, people who believe in Islamic religion in the US will be 6.2 million (62 lakh). The population of Muslims is going to grow rapidly not only in America but also in Canada Argentina, Brazil and Venezuella.
According to the report of the Pew Research Center, the number of Muslims in the US in the year 2010 was 26 lakhs, but the same figure is going to touch 62 lakhs in the next just 5 years i.e. in 2030. This increase is mainly due to immigration and more fertility rates than the average of American Muslims. The population of Muslims in Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuella is going to be 26 lakh, 12 lakh, 2 lakh 27 thousand and 1 lakh 21 thousand in the year 2030.
Major reasons for Muslim population growth
Immigration: The number of immigrants coming from Muslim countries has increased continuously in the last few years in many countries including America, Canada. This trend is expected to continue further. Especially the number of Muslim immigrants coming from South Asian, Middle East and African countries has increased.
High fertility rate: More than the average fertility rate in the Muslim community is also one of the main causes of population growth. Muslim families often have more children than other communities, which are raising the Muslim population rapidly.
Places in global context of Muslim population by 2030
By 2030, America can become a 43rd largest Muslim population country in the world, while in 2010 it was ranked 55th. This increase can bring it closer to the Muslim population of European countries like France and Russia. By 2030, the number of Muslims in the US may be the highest after Russia (19 million) and France (6.9 million), while the United Kingdom and Germany are estimated to be around 5.6 million Muslims respectively.
Muslims part in the total population of America
In 2010, Muslims were about 0.8 percent of the total population of America, but by 2030 this percentage is expected to increase by 1.7 percent. According to this growing trend, Muslims can become as large part in the US population as Jewish or Episcopelian (Anglican Church). For example, according to the 2007 Pu forum survey, Jews represents 1.7 percent of the US adult population, while Episcopelians are 1.4 percent.
