The whole country is facing rain and floods these days, now its effect is being seen in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. In Mathura, the Yamuna river has been flowing above the danger mark for the last about 5 days. Yamuna water reached 166.51 meters at 11 pm today, Yamuna is now flowing 51 cm above the danger mark in Mathura.
Due to the rise in the water level of the river, water has reached the villages, fields and link roads located along the Yamuna of Mahavan Tehsil and Umbrella Tehsil, due to which the contact of many villages has been cut. People living in the village are being evacuated from the village by the administration with the help of steamers.
Flood affected people are being shifted at safe places
People leaving the village are either going to their relatives or they are being kept in the shelter homes built by the district administration, where their entire arrangement is being made by the district administration. In the colony, situated on the banks of Yamuna, river water has started reaching inside, the team of district administration is rescuing people from flood affected areas and reaching the shelter home.
Municipal corporation put up warning board
Let us tell you that in the Yamuna, it has been flowing above the danger mark for the last 5 days, due to which the stairs of the ghats here are almost completely submerged. The Municipal Corporation has barricaded the Veri Gate Ghats by tying the way on the ghats along the banks of Yamuna, as well as warning boards. On which it is written, “There is deep water ahead, do not go ahead.”
Ban on boat operations
Apart from this, after reaching the ghats which are paved, devotees are taking a bath in the water of Yamuna, taking bath and worshiping there. Flood posts have been built by the district administration, along with the boats running in Yamuna have been banned.
Officers are visiting flood affected areas
Mathura District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, SP Shlok Kumar Singh, ADM Finance Pankaj Verma in -charge ADM Finance Pankaj Verma along with their subordinates are continuously visiting places where Yamuna water has reached. People from the affected areas are being evacuated by steamer and shifted to Shelter Homes.
