Who is a Jag officer?
According to reports, the JAG officer in the Indian Army is appointed as a legal advisor. These officers give opinion on the legal matters related to the army, become part of the process of court martial and settle the disputes related to discipline. In a way, they are the “legal guards” of the army. His role is very important because it is their responsibility to ensure following rules and laws in the army.
What should be the qualification?
If you want to become a jag officer, then you must have a law degree i.e. LLB. It should have at least 50% marks. Apart from this, the name of the candidate should be registered in Bar Council of India. Many times the CLAT PG score is also sought for the application. Talking about age, the age of the candidate for this post should be between 21 and 27 years. That is, students of youth law or new lawyers can make a great career in this field.

How is the process of selection?
To become a jag officer, no written test has to be given. Candidates are selected on the basis of SSB interview. In this interview, your personality, confidence, decision ability and leadership skills are thoroughly investigated. After this, the candidate has a medical test, so that it can be ensured that it meets the physical and mental standards of the army.
Salary and facilities
After becoming a JAG officer, the candidate is ranked as a commissioned officer. Their salary is fixed under level 10, which can start from about Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500 per month. Along with this, they are also given all the allowances, medical facilities and promotion opportunities in the army.
