A day after signing a strategic defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, India said on Thursday (September 18, 2025) that it would study the impacts of the agreement on its national security as well as regional and global stability.
According to a joint statement from Pakistan-Saudi Arabia, the agreement states that any kind of attack against either of the two countries would be considered an attack against both. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in his balanced response in the matter that India is committed to protecting its national interests and widespread national security in all fields.
Agreement reached in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan four months after Operation Sindoor
The strategic mutual defense agreement was signed by Saudi Arabia’s Shahzade Mohammed bin Salman Abdulazes Al Saud and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Shahbaz Sharif was on a visit to Saudi Arabia. Four months after the four -day military struggle between India and Pakistan, the agreement has been approved. Name of this agreement Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement It is the main condition that if one of the two countries is attacked, then they will be considered an attack on both. Both will protect each other under shared security.
Randhir Jaiswal said, the Government of India was aware that this is going to happen
Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen reports of a strategic mutual defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.” He said, “The government was aware that this development that has been formally given to this long -standing system between the two countries is being considered.”

Randhir Jaiswal said that India will study our national security as well as the effects on regional and global stability.
