The current basic pay of Assistant Professor is Rs 56,100 per month. Different allowances and facilities are available separately in it. But now after the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission, this basic pay will also increase considerably.
The most important role in increasing basic salary is that of fitment factor. This is a coefficient from which it is decided how to convert the old salary into a new salary. According to the current estimate, fitment factor 2.57 has been kept for Assistant Professor.
If the fitment factor of 2.57 is implemented, then the basic salary of Assistant Professor can reach Rs 1,44,117 per month. That is, the current basic pay will increase from Rs 56,100 to around Rs 1.44 lakh.
With the increase in basic salary, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), city allowance (CCA), medical facility and other benefits will also increase according to new basic pay.
This will make the total salary of Assistant Professor much more attractive and better life than before.
