Police has arrested Dr. Praveen Soni in the case of death of 10 children in Parasia, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. This incident came to light when children died after consuming Coldrif cough syrup.
In this case Shreeson Pharmaceutical and Dr. Sony are accused of illegally giving syrup. At present, the police have registered a case and started action and said that strict legal steps against the culprits. Dr. Soni But there are charges under BNS 276, BNS 105 and Section 27A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
On the death of children in Chhindwara, Chhindwara SP Ajay Pandey did not say that a case has been registered against Chennai’s pharmaceutical company and Dr. Praveen Soni. Superintendent of Police Ajay Pandey said that Dr. Praveen Soni has been detained but Dr. Praveen Soni has not been disclosed. At the same time, an SIT has been made for investigation in this case, soon the police team will leave for Chennai where the people of the pharmacological company will be arrested.
Case severity and number of dead
Explain that children under 5 years of age died in the moderate period due to Acute Kidney injury (AKI), not due to acute encephalitis syndrome (AES). Recently, after the death of 5 more children, the total death toll has increased to 10. Also, at least 3 children are fighting for life and death on dialysis and ventilator support in a hospital in Nagpur (Maharashtra).
Sup-Divisional Magistrate Parasia, Shubham Kumar Yadav said that since September 4, nine children have died including Shivam Rathore, Vidhi, Adnan, Usaid, Rishika, Hitansh, Chanchalesh, Vikas and Sandhya. 13 other children are undergoing treatment in Chhindwara and Nagpur hospitals. “
Investigation and reason
Detailed testing of water and other samples taken from children’s residence by the National Institute of Virology (NIV-Pune), including national institutions, concluded that water, vector disease or rats are not a cause. Investigation of medical history of children revealed that the use of Coldrif cough syrup was common in all cases of death.
However, detailed interrogation of Dr. Soni is going on. Apart from this, there is a possibility of investigation against other officers of the company and medical staff. Strict legal action will be taken against the culprits after the investigation is completed.
Chief Minister’s response and further action
CM Mohan Yadav described the incident as extremely tragic and said that the sale of Coldrif syrup has been banned throughout Madhya Pradesh. The sale of other products of the syrup making company is also being banned.
He informed that the syrup making factory is located in Kanchipuram. The state government had requested the Tamil Nadu government to conduct an inquiry. Strict action was taken immediately after receiving the investigation report. The CM assured that the culprits will not be spared at any cost and after the tragic death of the children, continuous action will continue at the local and state level.
