EOW, which is investigating the alleged fraud case of Rs 60 crore registered against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra, had recorded the statement of Shilpa Shetty last week. In her statement, Shilpa said that she took Rs 4 crore from Best Deal TV, but this was her celebrity fee.

Shilpa further said that even though she was a director in the company, she took this money because she had come and advertised for that TV as a celebrity on that platform. Sources told that Shilpa Shetty had taken Rs 4 crore for the same thing. Shilpa Shetty resigned from her post in January 2016.

Akshay Kumar has also been an equity holder
An officer told that in the same company in which you are a director, you took money for some other work, now whether it is right or wrong is “subject to interpretation”. Sources also said that during the investigation and after looking at the documents related to the company, it was also revealed that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had also been an equity holder of this company at the time of its inception.

However, Akshay has nothing to do with this matter. Akshay Kumar never participated in the board meeting nor does he have any information about the daily working of the company.

What is the whole matter?
Let us tell you that Mumbai businessman Deepak Kothari has accused Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra of fraud of Rs 60 crore. In the complaint lodged on August 14, it is alleged that Shilpa and Raj were directors of home shopping and online retail platform, Best Deal TV Private Limited, this company is now closed but they were defrauded of Rs 60 crore for investing in it.
