Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has released its first candidate list for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. On Wednesday (October 15, 2025), party president and Union Minister Chirag Paswan announced the names of candidates for 14 out of 29 seats. In this list, many old and trusted faces of the party have been given a second chance, along with some new names have also been included.

Hulas Pandey and Raju Tiwari get second chance
In the first list, leaders close to Chirag, Hulas Pandey and Raju Tiwari have got tickets. There was a tussle over seat sharing within the NDA on these two seats for a long time, but in the end these seats went to Chirag’s account.

Which party held which seats?
Of the 14 seats on which LJP (Ram Vilas) has fielded its candidates, last time 8 seats were with RJD, 1 seat with JDU, 1 BJP, 3 ML and 1 CPI. Out of the 14 seats for which the party has declared its names, it had contested 9 seats in 2020. She stood second on 2 and third on 7.

old faces repeated
This time the party has repeated 7 candidates from 9 old seats. These include names like Raju Tiwari from Govindganj, Hulas Pandey from Brahmapur, Prakash Chandra from Obra. Sunil Kumar has got the ticket in Paliganj, which was earlier held by Usha Vidyarthi. Whereas in Nathnagar, Mithun Kumar has been made the candidate in place of Amarnath Prasad. This time LJP (Ram Vilas) has also fielded its candidates on new seats like Darauli, Garkha, Bakhri, Dehri and Makhdumpur.

Keep a close eye on caste equations
In the first list, special attention has been paid to caste balance. Of the 14 candidates, 4 are from Scheduled Caste (3 Paswan, 1 Pasi), 6 from Forward Caste (3 Bhumihar, 2 Rajput, 1 Brahmin), 2 from Yadav and 2 from Vaishya community.

Last time only one seat was won
In the 2020 assembly elections, Chirag Paswan’s party contested alone and won only one seat. Rajkumar Singh had won from Matihani seat, but later he joined JDU. This time Chirag Paswan is with NDA, so it will be interesting to see how many seats his party can win.
