Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s Saawariya was released in 2007 on the occasion of Diwali. However, the film could not impress the audience that much at the box office and its earnings were not as expected.

Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar starrer film Blue was released in the year 2009 on the occasion of Diwali. There were a lot of expectations about this film, because it was made as a big budget project. 75 crores, this film collected only Rs 68 crores and was a flop.

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai starrer film Action Replayy was released on Diwali 2010. The film was a time-travel based comedy and had high expectations from the audience, especially due to the pairing of Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai. However, the film’s performance at the box office was disappointing and it collected only Rs 40.36 crore.

Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer film Thugs of Hindostan was released on Diwali of 2018. There were huge expectations about the film. However, the film did not meet the expectations of the audience at the box office and was called a huge flop.

Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan were seen in the lead roles with Salman Khan in the film Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. This film was released in the year 2009 on the occasion of Diwali and it was presented with a lot of expectations. However, the film’s performance at the box office was very weak and it collected only Rs 7 crore. The audience considered its story weak, due to which the film proved to be a flop despite its Diwali release.
