Indian film industry’s veteran comedian and actor Asrani passed away on October 20. After a long illness, the actor breathed his last at the age of 84. There has been a wave of mourning in Bollywood due to the news of Asrani’s sudden death. From Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Sunny Deol to Kangana Ranaut have expressed grief over the demise of the late actor and paid tribute to him.
Sunny Deol has expressed grief over Asrani’s demise by posting on Instagram story. He wrote- ‘ASarani ji was one of those rare artists who had the skill to make you smile even on the most difficult days. His warmth and humor will always be with us.
Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute
Aamir Khan wrote- ‘We are extremely saddened by the demise of veteran Asrani. A true icon, whose wit, warmth and unforgettable acting enlightened generations of cinema lovers. His legacy lives on in every laugh he inspired and every heart he touched. A timeless artist, will always be remembered. Whereas Amitabh Bachchan wrote on X without taking name – ‘Life snatches away life… prayers.’
Ajay Devgan saddened by Asrani’s demise
Ajay Devgan also wrote on Instagram story- ‘Very sad to hear the news of Asrani ji’s demise. From appreciating his work since childhood to sharing the screen with him… it was truly an honour. Always full of warmth, humor and humility. You will always be remembered sir…Om Shanti.
Kangana Ranaut also wrote a post for Asrani
Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has also shared a photo of Asrani on Instagram story. Along with this he wrote – ‘Shri Govardhan Asrani ji was not only an artist, but was also a part of all of our lives and growing up, through his lively roles and playful characters, he was almost like a family member. Along with unmatched humor and satire, he also showed deep emotional depth. You will be missed very much Asrani ji, Om Shanti.
Kajol shocked by Asrani’s demise
Kajol has also shared a clip from her recently released series ‘The Trial 2’ in which Asrani is seen with her. With this the actress wrote – ‘I am shocked to hear this news, I am sure Asrani ji is in a better place now. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.
Apart from this, many celebrities from Rakulpreet Singh, singer Adnan Sami to director Anees Bazmi have also paid tribute to Asrani.
