The Indian cricket team is currently on Australia tour and the team’s veteran batsman Virat Kohli is continuously proving to be a flop in this series. Virat has not been able to score a single run so far in the three-match ODI series against Australia. In both the matches in Perth and Adelaide, he was out without opening the account (on a duck).
This is the first time in Virat’s career that he has been out for zero in two consecutive ODI matches. In such a situation, questions are being raised about his form and speculations are rampant on social media about his possible ODI retirement.
Ashwin’s post created a stir
Amidst these speculations, Team India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made a post which created a stir among the fans. Ashwin shared a picture on his Twitter account, in which a ‘Rite’ mark (Nike-style logo) was visible in the color of the tricolor. With this he wrote just three words, “Just Leave It” i.e. “Leave it now.”
Just writing this was enough to spark a debate on social media. Fans linked this post to Virat Kohli, and speculations started that whether this message from Ashwin is a hint of retirement to Virat.

Will Virat play his last ODI in Sydney?
Virat Kohli’s dismissal on zero in Adelaide ODI was a big shock for the fans. When Virat returned to the pavilion after the match, he raised his gloves in the air and looked towards the crowd. Fans started taking this gesture as ‘farewell gesture’.
According to many reports, Virat can say goodbye to ODI cricket after the third ODI to be held in Sydney. However, no official statement has come from BCCI or Virat on this.
India’s second consecutive defeat
India had to face defeat by 2 wickets in the second ODI played in Adelaide. Batting first, Team India scored 264 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs, in which Shubman Gill scored the highest run of 83 runs. In reply, Australia achieved the target in 46.2 overs and captured the series 2-0.
