After the visit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Naveen to Lucknow, the party has further geared up for the 2027 elections in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP Chief not only held organizational meetings but also held separate meetings with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Naveen also held a meeting with UP BJP Chief Pankaj Chaudhary and UP BJP in-charge Dharampal Saini. During this time BL Santosh was also with him.
Apart from the BJP organization, Naveen also held a meeting with the leaders of the party-led National Democratic Alliance or NDA’s allies – Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, Apna Dal (S), Rashtriya Lok Dal and Nishad Party.
After these meetings and meetings, the question is sure to arise that what are the important issues BJP is focusing on in UP.
Name finalized! Will Swami Vasudevanand be the new General Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust in place of Champat Rai?
1-BJP’s eye on hat-trick
BJP is eyeing a hat-trick of victories in UP. BJP, which formed the government on its own with a huge majority for the first time in 2017, also won in 2022 but the number of seats had come down to around 265. In such a situation, BJP not only wants to win the upcoming elections but is also emphasizing on increasing the number of seats.
Trying to solve the equation of 2 seats
BJP is keeping an eye on those seats on which it had lost in the 2022 elections or those seats on which it had lagged behind in the 2024 elections. BJP is fixing all the problems on those seats.
3-Trying to cut off PDA
In UP, BJP is trying to circumvent SP’s PDA formula. A recent example of this is also visible in the new team of UP BJP. There is a possibility that UP may be given importance in the national team also. BJP is working on a strategy that like in the elections of 2024, if the alliance of SP and Congress makes such claims in the upcoming elections due to which there is a possibility of the castes in BJP’s equation separating from it, then it can refute the claims and promises of the opposition by putting its leaders forward.
4- Colleagues should not feel alienated.
When Nitin Naveen came to Lucknow, he also met the allies of BJP led NDA. The reason behind this was BJP’s effort to know what is the strategy of its allies, what are their demands and how will they be able to play their role in BJP’s victory. BJP does not want to make them feel isolated from anywhere. Through these meetings, BJP is not only trying to improve its coordination with allies but also wants to improve the mutual harmony among regional parties. For example, for the last few months it has been discussed that Subhasp Chief Om Prakash Rajbhar wants to contest elections from the seat which is claimed by Nishad Party. Nishad did not say anything openly on this claim of Rajbhar but definitely said in a hushed tone that a solution would be found.

Through these meetings and strategies, BJP is trying its best to reach the Assembly for the third time with good numbers. It will be interesting to see how the opposition responds to these strategies of BJP in UP.
