More than 100 policemen and protesters have been injured in the clash between protesters and security personnel in Delhi. According to Delhi Police, the situation worsened during CJP’s demonstration in the area. Police say that the protesters were explained several times and asked to disperse, but they did not listen and violated the prohibitory orders in force. Police claim that the protesters tried to break barricades, threw stones and other objects at policemen, vandalized government vehicles and indulged in violence, which affected law and order and security.
118 policemen injured in clash
According to the police, more than 118 policemen were injured in the clash, including officers of the ranks of Special CP, Joint CP, Additional CP, DCP, Additional DCP and ACP. Many women policemen have also been injured. There is also information that about 60 protesters were injured. The injured policemen are being given medical treatment. Police say that 15 to 20 government vehicles and other government property were damaged during the demonstration.
Police detained 70 protesters
So far, about 70 protesters have been detained. The police is taking legal action against them by registering an FIR under sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and other related laws including rioting, assault on a government employee, damaging government property and others. Delhi Police has said that it is its responsibility to maintain law and order and strict action will be taken against anyone involved in violence or illegal activities.

Delhi Police engaged in investigation of violence during protest
Delhi Police has started investigation into the violence that took place during CJP’s ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest. Police sources say that apart from identifying those involved in the clashes, investigators will also probe whether there was a larger conspiracy behind the unrest. More than 70 people have been detained in connection with the violence, while several FIRs are being registered based on complaints received from different places.
