Political rhetoric has intensified on the issue of alleged irregularities in offerings in Ayodhya Ram temple. In this series, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu along with his cabinet members reached Ram Temple in Shimla, where he had darshan of Lord Shri Ram, offered prayers and participated in kirtan.

During this, Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, Rajesh Dharmani, Anirudh Singh, Vikramaditya Singh, State Congress President Vinay Kumar and Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha were also present. Taking aim at the BJP in the temple premises, the Chief Minister said that God should give wisdom to those who indulge in irregularities in donations in the name of Ram. He said that this is not just a matter of money but of the faith of crores of devotees.

The government had declared a one-day holiday on the occasion of Ram Lalla’s life consecration.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that when donations were being collected across the country for the construction of Ram Temple, he had also contributed devotedly while being an MLA. He said that on the occasion of the consecration of Ram Lalla, the Himachal Pradesh government had declared a public holiday for the entire day. The Chief Minister further said that his government is trying to implement the ideals of Lord Shri Ram in governance and public service. Hindu culture teaches to respect all religions and those who are true followers of Lord Ram do not do politics in his name.

Those who indulge in politics and donations in the name of Ram should get wisdom.

The Chief Minister said that devotees from across the country had offered money, jewelery and other offerings at the feet of Lord Ram as per their faith. In such a situation, if there is any kind of irregularity in the offerings, then it is not only an economic irregularity but also a theft of the faith of crores of people. At the same time, he along with the cabinet prayed to Lord Shri Ram that those doing politics in the name of Ram and those who indulge in irregularities in donations should get wisdom.

On the question of SIT investigation, he said that the law does its work, but the most important thing is the intentions and feelings of the person. The Chief Minister also mentioned the contribution of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and said that he also played an important role in the process of Ram Temple.

Responding to the allegations of Himachal BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, the Chief Minister said that he too worships Lord Ram with equal devotion and has been following the path of truth, honesty and service shown by him for years. The Chief Minister claimed that his government is implementing public welfare schemes in accordance with the spirit of Ramrajya, the benefits of which are reaching the last person of the society. He also advised BJP to respect the faith of the devotees and consider their intentions and feelings.
