Sunday is the birth anniversary of late leader of Indian politics Ram Vilas Paswan, father of LJP President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan. In this connection, ABP News has talked to Chirag Paswan on various issues. He expressed his opinion on many issues ranging from his father to Bankipur elections and party expansion plans. During this, Chirag was seen lost in the memories of his father.
Chirag became emotional remembering his father, called him his leader
Chirag Paswan said that today is a very important day for me personally, because all the memories of my father, from childhood till today, keep coming to my mind at different times. But the party should expand as per his ideas, there should be development, politics should rise above caste and communalism, this was the thinking of my leader Ram Vilas Paswan.
He said, ‘However, after his departure, our party remained entangled in its own ups and downs for a long time. Because of this, the kind of expansion that should have happened could not happen. But whenever we got an opportunity, we worked to take the party forward. Today we have MLAs in Jharkhand and Nagaland, we have public representatives in many states. Uttar Pradesh is not only the neighboring state of Bihar, but has also been very close to the heart of my leader Ram Vilas Paswan. The concerns here were also close to his heart. In such a situation, the party is now working on expanding its organization in Uttar Pradesh.
What did Chirag say on Bankipur by-election and Prashant Kishore?
Chirag Paswan also expressed his views on this contest which became interesting after the announcement of Prashant Kishor to contest elections in Bihar. Chirag said that every political party will try to contest the elections. Prashant Kishore ji had also tried to give recognition to his party in the last assembly elections, but he did not get success at that time. Now if they contest elections through by-elections, it is their personal decision. I will not comment much on this. But I definitely believe that this is an NDA seat. Bharatiya Janata Party has been continuously winning here. Today, the MLA of this seat has become a Rajya Sabha MP and is the national president of the country’s largest party. He comes from my home state Bihar and is also in Lucknow today. Therefore, I believe that once again NDA will win this seat.
What did Chirag say on the entry of other political parties of Bihar in Uttar Pradesh?
Chirag said, ‘I believe that this is the beauty of democracy. The more choices people have, the stronger democracy will be. After all the decision has to be taken by the public only. If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, the people here will decide which party they have faith in. In such a situation, every party should come and express its views, this is the beauty of democracy. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will work to give impetus to the future of the youth by handling the legacy of its leader with new thinking and new energy and will move forward with this thinking.
What did Chirag say on contesting elections on 403 seats and preparations of the organization?
Chirag said, ‘Whenever I am asked this question, I feel that an attempt is being made to include me in the ambit of the alliance. I always say that whether it is 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh or 243 seats in Bihar, any political party should prepare for every seat. It would be very narrow-minded for me to prepare only for those seats where my party has a chance of contesting the elections. If the alliance partners contest elections, they will also get my support. Therefore, our preparations will be on 403 seats, so that wherever the alliance partners contest elections, they can get the benefit of the strength of our organization.
What did Chirag say on contesting 2027 elections and alliance?
Chirag said, ‘Until I completely strengthen and prepare my organization, it is meaningless to talk about anything further. In Bihar we fought elections with an alliance, in Jharkhand also we fought elections with an alliance, but in Nagaland, where we have two MLAs today, we fought elections without an alliance. The state unit will decide whether the alliance will remain or not. First we will review the organization, organize programs in different districts, see the inclination of the people. After that, the proposal given by the state unit will be placed before the Central Parliamentary Board and the final decision regarding the alliance will be taken there.
What did Chirag say about Maharaja Suheldev Pasi?
Paswan said, ‘There should be no politics regarding any great man. If you have faith and trust in him, then it is more important to follow his thoughts than his name. I try to move forward with the same thinking. While respecting great men, I try to keep the society away from the politics of discrimination. I will never involve myself in such controversies. Everyone has his own faith and belief. In the society I come from, Maharaja Suheldev Pasi is considered the greatest great man. That’s why I believe there should never be any difference of opinion regarding them.

What did Chirag say on Bharat Tiwari encounter and encounter policy?
Chirag Paswan said, ‘It is important to understand the thinking behind the encounter. Such criminals who have spread atrocities in the society should not be spared at any cost. But if under the guise of an encounter, any wrong is done to an innocent person or he is murdered, then I will not accept it at all. Whoever is guilty should be given the harshest punishment. There should be fear of law among anti-social elements, but under its guise it is also the responsibility of the governments to ensure that no innocent person is punished.
What did Chirag say on the matter of theft of offerings in Ram temple?
Chirag said, ‘These things worry every Ram devotee. I am a believer myself and playing with anyone’s faith of any kind cannot be accepted. I believe that whether it is the Central Government or the State Government, both are working to ensure that whoever is guilty gets the harshest punishment. Those who have played with the faith of the devotees will not be spared at any cost.
