FASTag Annual Pass: A major change may soon be seen regarding the toll tax system. Keeping in mind the problems being faced by the drivers, the Central Government is working on such a scheme, which will provide relief from the trouble of making repeated payments at the toll plaza. Under this new scheme, local people living near toll plazas will be given the facility of digital monthly and annual passes.
Since this pass is linked to Fastag, you will not have to stop again and again to pay toll fee and will be able to cross the toll easily. The main objective of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is to make the toll system seamless. According to officials, this facility can be started by next month.
Who will get FASTag monthly pass?
- This monthly pass will be available to those people who live within a radius of 20 kilometers of any toll plaza.
- Those who have personal i.e. non-commercial vehicles.
- According to the new system, digital passes will be issued to vehicle owners through their Aadhaar number.
- If the pass is directly linked to Fastag, drivers will be able to cross the toll plaza without stopping.
