Free Laptop Scheme: These days a message is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In which it is being claimed that the Government of India will distribute free laptops to the students. This work is going to be done under the ‘National Student Laptop Scheme 2026’ of the Central Government. Now the truth of this scheme has been exposed by the government itself.
What is the truth of the matter?
After this matter came to light, the government’s fact-checking agency PIB Fact Check has exposed this claim. PIB has made it clear that this is completely fake news. The Government of India has not announced any such scheme. The truth of this news has been told by sharing a post through the official X (Twitter) account of PIB.

In this post, a screenshot of the message going viral has been shared, on which FAKE is written in big letters. Along with this, it is written in the caption, ‘A message is going viral on WhatsApp, in which it is being claimed that the government is accepting applications to provide free laptops under ‘National Student Laptop Scheme 2026’. According to PIB fact check, this claim is completely fake.

Along with this, it is further written in the post, ‘The Government of India has not announced any such scheme. Such messages are often spread with the aim of collecting personal or financial information of people.
