Iran suffered huge losses in the war with America, but despite this it did not bow down. Many people including Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei lost their lives in the US attack. Tehran is now preparing for Khamenei’s funeral. Its complete schedule has been revealed. Iran has invited many leaders from around the world for the last program. Names of some leaders of India are also included in this list.
According to reports, the last darshan and tribute ceremony has been organized at Grand Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran on 4th and 5th July. After this, the last yatra will be taken out on 6th July. Khamenei’s mortal remains will be buried at the Imam Reza Dargah in Mashhad on July 9. This entire program will last for about 6 days. Along with Khamenei, Dr. Misbah-ul-Huda Bagheri, Seyyada Bushra Husseini Khamenei, Zahra Haddad Adil and Zahra Mohammadi Golpaygani will also be cremated.
Funeral program of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
- July 4–5: Two-day funeral and tribute ceremony at the Grand Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran.
- 6 July: The main funeral procession will be taken out in Tehran. During this time, along with the mortal remains of Khamenei, the mortal remains of Dr. Misbah-ul-Huda Bagheri, Sayyida Bushra Hussaini Khamenei, Zahra Haddad Adil and Zahra Mohammadi Golpaygani will also be included.
- July 7: Last Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered in Qum city of Iran.
- July 8: The last procession will reach Iraq on the request of religious and political leaders. Tributes and religious ceremonies will be organized in Najaf and Karbala. The Iraqi administration will announce the detailed program.
- July 9: Will be buried at Imam Reza Dargah in Mashhad, Iran. This program will be held on the occasion of the night of martyrdom of Imam Sajjad.
Will attend Khamenei’s funeral
Iran has sent formal invitations to several Indian political leaders to attend the multi-day state funeral of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti has accepted the official invitation to attend Khamenei’s funeral and will travel to Iran. Other leaders from India can also go with him.
