Will prices increase after the elections?

The increasing difference between the cost of raw materials and the selling price at the pump is causing huge losses to government oil companies. According to some estimates, they are incurring a loss of around Rs 2400 crore every day. Due to this, speculations have intensified that prices may increase soon after the end of assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry on Wednesday.
