Gujarat Titans (GT) batsman Sai Sudarshan said that he is very happy to join the exclusive club of legends like Virender Sehwag, David Warner and Jos Buttler by scoring five consecutive half-centuries in the Indian Premier League 2026. He stressed that the team’s entire focus is on the big challenge ahead.
“I think it’s a great feeling to be included in that list, but there is still work left to do. We have to win the matches, and also perform well in the playoffs. So my eyes are on that. I am very happy and thankful to God,” Sudarshan said while talking to broadcasters after playing an innings of 84 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.
Sudarshan, who made a partnership of 125 runs for the first wicket with Gill and 82 runs for the second wicket with Jos Buttler, said, “I think the way Shubman played was incredible. Jos Buttler also batted tremendously. Maybe I could have done even better and scored 10-15 more runs. We do not play looking at our score, but according to the situation.”
He said, “I think we focus on partnerships. I was not scoring runs fast at that time. When the power-play ended, we were scoring 10 runs per over. So I think I was not focusing on my score or the balls I played, how many runs I scored from those balls or how many runs Shubman scored. I think we play as a partnership. We choose the right opportunities and take the game till the end.”
