The case of rape and murder of a minor has heated up in Pune. Meanwhile, while giving information regarding this matter on Saturday (02 May), Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the accused has been arrested. A 3 year old girl was exploited by a 65 year old man. He said that the case against the accused will be tried in the fast track court. Along with this, the CM also assured that the accused will be given death sentence as soon as possible.
Pune Rural SP Sandeep Singh Gill said, “This incident took place on Friday (01 May) evening in Nasrapur, Pune.” After which we arrested the accused within some time. POCSO Act cases have also been registered against the 65 year old accused in 1998 and 2015. The accused already has a criminal record. We have also registered this case under the POCSO Act and are investigating further.

Local people are angry after this incident of rape and murder. SP Sandeep Singh Gill said, “We talked to the angry villagers. The villagers demonstrated by blocking the road last night (01 May) and today (02 May) morning. The demonstration remained peaceful. People want quick justice in this case. We also explained to the people of the village and asked for their cooperation, after which the villagers agreed and ended the protest.
The girl’s body was found soaked in blood
According to initial information, this matter came to light when the girl went missing in the afternoon and her family members started searching for her. During the search, the girl’s mutilated and blood-soaked body was found. After this, the CCTV footage of the area allegedly showed the accused elderly man taking the little girl with him, which helped the police to identify him and arrest him.
