Hantavirus outbreak: The Indian Embassy in Spain gave important information on Sunday. It was told that the two Indian citizens aboard MV Hondius are healthy without any symptoms. The embassy said in a statement that these two Indian citizens were traveling with a crew member on a ship affected by Hantavirus. He was referred to the Netherlands. At present he will be kept in quarantine under health safety protocols.
The statement further said that the Ambassador is in constant touch with the Spanish authorities and the two Indian nationals. The situation is being monitored to ensure the well-being and safety of Indian citizens.

Here, while giving information, France said that one of the five French passengers aboard the cruise ship affected by the outbreak of Hantavirus showed symptoms during the return flight to their country on Sunday. Posting on Twitter, he said that one of them showed symptoms on the flight back home. These passengers have been kept in isolation. At present his treatment is going on. Their tests and medical checkup will be done.

How does Hantavirus spread?
The first group of cruise ship passengers affected by Hantavirus were disembarked from the ship using small boats. However, it spreads from person to person only on very rare occasions. The Spanish flagged ship has reached the industrial port Granadilla. The Spanish Health Ministry has said that more than 140 people aboard the Hondius have not shown symptoms of the virus.
