IPL 2026: Bhuvneshwar has Purple Cap, know who is ahead in the race for Orange Cap

IPL 2026 is slowly moving towards its final stage. Two powerful matches were played in the tournament on Sunday. In the first match, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Supergiants (LSG), while in the second match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI). Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who played an important role in helping RCB win by taking 4 wickets, has also captured the Purple Cap.

Bhuvneshwar took 4 big wickets for just 23 runs in a spell of 4 overs against MI. Along with this, he gave a thrilling victory to RCB by hitting a brilliant six in the last over of the match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar appeared in excellent form in IPL 2026, so far this season he has taken 21 wickets in 11 matches. He has ended the reign of Anshul Kamboj.

Anshul has slipped to second place in this list with 19 wickets. At the same time, Kagiso Rabada is at third position with 18 wickets and LSG fast bowler Prince Yadav is at fourth position in the Purple Cap race with 16 wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Ishan Malinga is at fifth position with 16 wickets. Rashid Khan is at sixth position with 15 wickets.

Orange cap adorns the head of Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen has so far scored 494 runs in the 11 matches played this season at a strike rate of 157. Abhishek Sharma is at second position after scoring 475 runs in 11 matches. Delhi Capitals batsman KL Rahul is at third position in the list with 468 runs.

Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill is at fourth place in the Orange Cap race with 462 runs, while Sai Sudarshan is at fifth place with 440 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is at fifth position after scoring 440 runs in 11 matches. Chennai Super Kings wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson is at sixth position with 430 runs. Samson scored 28 runs in 14 balls in the match played against LSG on Sunday.
