Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is in the news these days for his statement. In a recent interview, he made many revelations about his personal life, difficult times and love life. He also told that when he was dating Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, his condition was very bad and he did not even have money for himself.

Meanwhile, he met Sushmita Sen on the sets of ‘Dastak’ (1996). This was Sushmita’s first love and their relationship was just beginning. However, his financial condition was not good and he did not have money even for daily needs.

I was directing Aamir Khan and dating Miss Universe, but I had no money. I was completely penniless. I remember I didn’t even have money to buy a CD. I have lived life like a fakir.

Let us tell you that the relationship between Sushmita Sen and Vikram Bhatt did not last long and they separated. After this, Vikram also dated Ameesha Patel from the film ‘Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage’, although this relationship also lasted from 2002 to 2007.

remained in jail for 70 days

Apart from this, he was also in the news last year regarding legal matters. In December 2025, he and his wife Shwetambari Soni were arrested in a fraud case related to a film project and had to stay in jail for 70 days. After coming out of jail, he said on these allegations that he had not done any wrong. The allegations leveled against him are baseless and nothing has been proved in the charge sheet. Talking about work, his horror film ‘Haunted 3D’ is going to be released in theaters on June 12, in which Mimoh Chakraborty and Chetna Pandey are in the lead roles.
