Amidst the ongoing conflict and tension in West Asia, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has visited Iran’s capital Tehran on Friday (May 22, 2026). Asim Munir, who visited Tehran, held a meeting with Iran’s Parliament Speaker and top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and discussed ending the ongoing conflict with America and taking forward talks on a possible agreement. During this, Iranian Parliament Speaker MB Ghalibaf said that Iran will not make any compromise with the rights and interests of its country and citizens.
According to the report of Iran’s government news agency, Ghalibaf said that during the ceasefire with America, Iran’s armed forces have strengthened their capabilities again. He warned that if America again starts a foolish war, its consequences will be even more devastating and terrible.
Munir also discussed with Abbas Araghchi
According to an announcement issued by the Iranian government on Saturday (May 23, 2026), before the meeting with the Iranian Parliament Speaker, Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir had discussed in detail with Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi as part of diplomatic maneuvers related to the West Asia conflict and regional situations.
According to the report of Iranian government news agency IRNA, after the meeting between Asim Munir and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, an official statement of the government was released on social media. In which the Iranian government said that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir met with Araghchi in Tehran to discuss diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability and security in West Asia and preventing further tensions.
IRNA said that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir has visited Tehran for the second time in the last one and a half month. Where the discussions between the leaders of the two countries continued till late night.
