Womens T20 World Cup 2026 IND W vs WI W: The Indian team started the Women’s T20 World Cup with a bang by defeating West Indies by 26 runs in the warm-up match. Batting first in the match played at Sophia Garden Stadium in Cardiff, Team India scored 179 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, West Indies could score only 153 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. With this victory, Team India will obviously get confidence.
Bharti Phulmali for India and Shreyanka Patil, playing for RCB, stole the show with their brilliant performance. Bharti played the biggest innings and scored 56* runs in 40 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. Whereas Shreyanka took maximum 4 wickets in her account.

Apart from Bharti Fulmali, Shefali Verma scored 29 runs, Smriti Mandhana scored 39 runs, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 07 runs, Yastika Bhatia scored 36 runs, Radha Yadav scored 01 runs, Shreyanka Patil scored 02 runs, Kranti Gaur scored 04 runs and Shri Charani scored 02* runs. Rest of the wicketkeeper batsman Richa Ghosh was out without opening the account.

West Indies got frustrated in run chase
West Indies, who came on the field for the run chase, had a good start. Team openers Deandra Dottin and Shamen Campbell made a partnership of 63 runs in 54 balls for the first wicket. The team got its second blow at 75 runs, third at 81 runs, fourth at 97 runs, fifth at 102 runs, sixth at 103 runs, seventh at 113 runs and eighth at 144 runs.
World Cup will start from June 12
Currently, warm-up matches of the Women’s T20 World Cup are being played. The tournament will start from June 12. Team India will play its first match against Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Team India’s second league match will be against Netherlands on June 17, third against South Africa on June 21, fourth against Bangladesh on June 25 and fifth against Australia on June 28.
