RCB Trophy: Royal Challengers Bangalore has won the final match of IPL 2026 held on 31 May 2026. This is the second consecutive time that the team has won the trophy. RCB is also on top in terms of earnings
In fact, it is being estimated that this season the team has earned around Rs 765 crore and an operating profit of more than Rs 400 crore. This strong earning is considered to be a major reason for the recent valuation of the team at Rs 16,660 crore (about 1.78 billion dollars).

Where did RCB earn so much from?
The biggest share of the team comes from the central revenue pool of IPL. Apart from this, about Rs 450 crore is earned from media rights. So the team earns about Rs 60 crore from central sponsorship. This means that RCB gets approximately Rs 510 crore from these two sources alone.

Apart from this, the team earns approximately Rs 165 crore from its sponsorship deals. Bengaluru earns around Rs 45 crore from ticket sales for domestic matches. The team earns a profit of around Rs 25 crore from merchandise and licensing. Around Rs 20 crore comes from the prize money of the tournament. Including all this the total income is around Rs 765 crore.

How much does the team cost?
As expected, the expenses of RCB i.e. Royal Challengers Bangalore remain under control. As:

  • The salary of the players is around Rs 124.8 crore.
  • The match fee is around Rs 12.6 crore.
  • BCCI gets Rs 151.6 crore as share in revenue.
  • The expenses of coaching staff, travel, marketing and stadium also reach around Rs 60 to 65 crores.
  • Overall the team’s expenditure is around Rs 352 crore.

How much is the team’s profit?
The team’s earnings are around Rs 765 crore and the team’s expenses are around Rs 352 crore. In such a situation, the operating profit (EBITDA) of RCB after the match is approximately Rs 405 crore. This means the operating margin of the company is more than 50%. This is much higher than many big sports teams of the world and most of the IPL franchises.
