US President Donald Trump on Friday (26 June 2026) accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement. Trump accused Iran of breaking ceasefire

Donald Trump posted on Truth Social and wrote, ‘Iran fired at least four one-way attack drones on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. One of these drones went straight and hit the upper part of an expensive commercial ship. The ship was damaged by the attack, but it managed to move ahead. The remaining three drones were shot down in the air by the US Army. Trump has called it a foolish violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Iran had threatened

US President Donald Trump’s statement has come at a time when the United Nations agency International Maritime Organization (IMO) has stopped its work to safely rescue stranded ships and sailors on the way to Hormuz. The Wall Street Journal and Reuters quoted US officials as saying that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked the ship. The attack came just hours after Iran warned that if the ships did not follow its designated routes, action could be taken against them.

According to the British Naval Agency (UKMTO), the ship was attacked by missile or drone near the coast of Oman. The control room part of the ship has been damaged in this attack, but the matter of relief is that no one was injured. Later sources identified the ship as ‘Ever Lovely’, which was flying the Singapore flag.
