The East Zone team for Duleep Trophy 2026 has been announced. In this, Ishan Kishan has been made the captain, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been given the responsibility of vice-captain. Vaibhav and Ishaan were recently seen in the T20 series played on the Zimbabwe tour. Vaibhav became the batsman who scored the most runs in the series. Ishaan was second in scoring runs. Duleep Trophy will start from 23rd August. The final of the tournament will be held on September 10.

Both the batsmen have been rewarded for their excellent performance. Team India’s veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also been included in the squad. Apart from this, players like Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar and all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed are also present.

Ishan Kishan’s strong comeback

Vaibhav recently made his international debut in the T20 series played against England. He has now played 6 T20 International matches. Now he has been given a big responsibility in Duleep Trophy. Now it will be interesting to see how Vaibhav performs as vice-captain. He continues to look amazing with the bat. Vaibhav had scored 151 runs in 3 matches of the Zimbabwe T20 series.
