Jamia Millia Islamia has released the official notification of PhD admission for the academic session 2026-27. The complete timetable related to application dates, entrance examination, interview and admission process has been released by the university. Candidates wishing to take admission in PhD will be able to apply as per the scheduled dates.
The online application process for PhD admission in Jamia Millia Islamia will start from 11 May 2026. Candidates will be able to fill the application form till June 8, 2026. The editing window will remain open on 9th and 10th June 2026 to make corrections in the form. Candidates are advised to apply within the stipulated time. At the last moment, the load on the website may increase and there may be problems in the application process.
Admit cards will be issued on June 14
The admit card for PhD entrance examination will be issued by the university on 14 June 2026. Candidates will be able to download their admit card through the official admission portal.
Entrance exam will be held on 20th and 21st June
PhD Admission Test will be conducted on 20th June and 21st June 2026. After the examination, the list of candidates selected for interview will be released between July 10 and July 15, 2026. The candidates selected for the interview will have to submit their research proposal to the concerned department or center by 22 July 2026. After this, the interview process will be completed through CRC and DRC between July 27 to July 31, 2026.

Admission process will be completed in August
The list of selected candidates will be released between August 3 and August 5, 2026. After this, the admission formalities will be completed on 6, 7 and 10 August 2026. Course work classes will be started from 11 August 2026.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee for PhD admission has been fixed at Rs 2000 per candidate. The application form and other necessary information will be made available on the official admission portal of the university. For more details, candidates can take help of the official site.
