Kerala Election 2026: UDF manifesto released, rain of free facilities with ‘5+1 guarantee’

Before the Kerala elections, the United Democratic Front (UDF) has released its election manifesto, in which several welfare schemes and “5+1 guarantee” have been announced. At the event organized in Ernakulam, opposition leader V.D. Satheesan released the manifesto. On this occasion, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was present as the chief guest.

Satheesan said that this manifesto is based on the five major guarantees which were announced by Rahul Gandhi during the conclusion of ‘Puthu Yuga Yatra’ in Thiruvananthapuram. He said that if voted to power, the UDF will increase the welfare pension from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 and will also create a separate government department for senior citizens.

Citing the Telangana model, Satheesan said that just as Revanth Reddy fulfilled his promises within 100 days, UDF will also implement its promises.

The main guarantees of the manifesto are as follows:

Free travel in Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses

₹1,000 monthly assistance to college going girl students

Health insurance worth ₹25 lakh in the name of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy

Increase in welfare pension to ₹3,000

Formation of separate ministries for interest-free loans to youth and senior citizens

UDF has tried to woo the youth, women and elderly through these announcements.
