Oil companies still incur losses
Let us tell you that the continuous increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG in the last 15 days has increased the possibility of increase in the prices of LPG gas also. The reason for this is that government oil marketing companies (OMCs) are facing huge losses due to rising prices of crude oil in the global oil market. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of petrol and diesel four times this month, taking the total increase by about Rs 7.5 per litre.
On Monday, the central government said that despite recently increasing fuel prices, government oil marketing companies are still incurring a loss of about Rs 600 crore every day. Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said, “Earlier, oil marketing companies were incurring a loss of Rs 1,000 crore every day, but even after recently increasing the prices, the loss is still a little less than Rs 600 crore.”
