There is relief news for Delhi Capitals, because fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is completely fit. Ngidi suffered a head injury while taking a catch in the match against Punjab Kings on Saturday, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Ngidi wrote on Instagram that he is completely fine. Ngidi thanked all those who messaged to inquire about his condition.
While trying to take a catch in the match against Punjab Kings in IPL 2026 last Saturday, Lungi Ngidi fell backwards on the ground due to loss of balance. While falling down, his head hit the ground with great force. The medical team of Delhi Capitals came to the field and seeing the seriousness of the situation, an ambulance was called inside the field. Ngidi was admitted to BLK-Max Hospital.

Lungi Ngidi has given his first post/statement after that incident. He told through Instagram story that everything is fine and thanks all the people who messaged. Delhi Capitals co-owner and chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi also reached the hospital to know about Ngidi’s condition.
The good thing for Delhi Capitals was that Lungi Ngidi was discharged from the hospital on Saturday night itself. After getting information about the incident, Delhi Police had prepared a green corridor to take Ngidi to the hospital. The ambulance reached the hospital in just 11 minutes.
Punjab Kings created history
Batting first, Delhi Capitals made its highest score in IPL. Delhi Capitals had scored 264 runs on the basis of KL Rahul’s historic century inning of 152 runs. In reply, thanks to the stormy half-centuries of Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer, Punjab won the match and created the record of the biggest run chase in IPL.
