Malayalam film Patriot is already in the news due to its big star cast, which includes stalwarts like Mammootty, Mohanlal and Fahadh Faasil. The film is not dubbed in Hindi, but with subtitles it can be easily watched and understood. The story is based on today’s pressing issues like digital privacy and data theft. It shows how your personal information and location can be tracked through technology. Mammootty plays the role of a scientist who investigates these cases and later becomes a YouTuber. His entry is very powerful and gets good response in the theatre. Mohanlal enters in the second half and he makes the film stronger. Both the legends have great screen presence and dominate the entire film. However, Fahadh Faasil’s role seems a bit weak and he is not able to leave that much impact. Among the rest of the cast, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara and Revathi do well in their small roles. Director Mahesh Narayanan has kept this 3-hour film engaging to a great extent. Rating: 3/5 A film worth watching in theatres, especially for the star power and treatment
