LPG Supply: India has been struggling with the oil and gas crisis for a long time due to the ongoing war between Iran and the US. Due to which people had to face shortage of gas cylinders. Recently, an order has been issued by the government, in which it has been said that those people who are using natural gas (LPG) from pipeline at their homes, they will no longer get LPG cylinders.

Government issued orders
In fact, on Monday itself, the government has issued orders, in which, with immediate effect, people with PNG connections have been banned from purchasing LPG cylinders. There is a shortage of LPG due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing war between America and Israel on Iran, due to which India has cut the supply of LPG to some industries.

India consumed 33.15 million metric tons of LPG in the year 2025, which was mostly used for cooking. The share of imports in this consumption was about 60%. About 90% of this import came from the Middle East.

Government is encouraging for PNG connection
On one hand, the government is encouraging customers to use piped gas. On the other hand, it has been decided not to provide gas cylinders to PNG holders. This is being done by the government in view of the shortage of gas. Recently the prices of petrol and diesel have increased. After which now the turn of gas cylinder prices may also increase.
