NEET UG 2026 Under Investigation: The biggest examination for admission to medical colleges in India, NEET UG 2026, is in the news this time due to reports of some irregularities. The National Testing Agency (NTA) publicly confirmed these reports and said that information related to suspicious activities has already been sent to central agencies for investigation. This matter has come to light after the action taken by Rajasthan Special Operation Group (SOG), which has drawn new attention on the honesty and transparency of NEET exam.
NTA’s steps for exam security
NTA said that complete security arrangements were implemented in the NEET UG examination held on May 3, 2026. The agency also made it clear that they will not make any predictions regarding the outcome of the ongoing investigation. NTA took several strict steps to ensure security in the NEET UG 2026 examination. The question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles which had special watermarks so that they could be traced. The examination centers were monitored through AI-assisted CCTV and biometric identification of every candidate was made mandatory. Also, 5G jammers were installed to prevent any digital interference or unauthorized communication. The purpose of all these measures was to assure students and their families that the examination was conducted in a completely safe and fair manner.

Information and investigation of alleged irregularities
NTA said that it received information about the alleged irregularities on May 7, four days after the exam. The next day, i.e. on May 8, these information were sent to the central agencies, although the NTA did not specify the nature of the error, but confirmed that the central agencies have now started investigating the matter. The initiative of Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has drawn further attention to this matter.
NTA made it clear
NTA made it clear that it will not predict the outcome of the investigation in advance. The agency said any findings or further action would be made public in a transparent manner. Any kind of irregularities in an examination like NEET UG, which is related to the future of lakhs of students, can become a matter of serious concern.
