The race for the playoffs in IPL 2026 is quite interesting. 49 matches have been played, and the 50th match is being played between Lucknow and RCB. So far, neither many teams have been out of the tournament, nor has anyone qualified for the playoffs. If we look at the latest points table, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals are contenders to reach the playoffs. Whereas the path for KKR and Mumbai Indians is quite difficult. Meanwhile, former Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav has named the four biggest contending teams for the playoffs.

When JioStar expert Umesh Yadav was asked about the playoffs during the IPL, he said, “Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are possible contenders for the top four.”

IPL 2026 has been no less than a nightmare for Jasprit Bumrah. Regarding Bumrah’s poor performance, Umesh Yadav said, “Jasprit Bumrah’s performance has not been consistent for Mumbai Indians this season. Sometimes he is asked to bowl in the powerplay, and sometimes he comes to bowl in such situations when there is some pressure on him. This is affecting his performance. The team should create aggressive bowling opportunities for Bumrah and give him opportunities to take wickets.”

Umesh Yadav also reacted to Rishabh Pant. He said that due to the form of Rishabh Pant, Lucknow Super Giants have suffered a lot of losses and the team has also failed to field the right combination.
