Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Italy on the last leg of his 5-nation tour. He met Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni over dinner in Rome, after which both the leaders visited the Coliseum. PM Modi and Georgia Meloni traveled in the same car.
PM Modi shared the photo on Instagram and wrote, ‘After reaching Rome, we got the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Meloni for dinner, after which we visited the prestigious Colosseum. We shared our views on many topics. Looking forward to our talks today, in which we will continue to discuss ways to further strengthen India-Italy friendship.

Italy PM also welcomed Prime Minister Modi and called him my friend. Meloni posted a photo with PM Modi from the historic Colosseum stand on the X and said, ‘Welcome to Rome, my friend.’

Modi reached Italy for the fifth and last stop of his five-nation tour, which included Norway, Sweden, Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This visit of PM Modi is taking place amidst the strengthening of relations between the two countries, in which both sides are actively pursuing the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029, which is a big framework for cooperation in many areas. Important agreements are to be signed between the two countries on defence, security, clean energy, innovation, science and technology.
